Cette année, NEAR - association suisse pour la photographie contemporaine - est invitée pour une carte blanche.

Durant le week-end d'ouverture, les membres photographes de NEAR investiront la chapelle Saint-Jean et proposeront une exposition collective s'articulant autour du thème de cette édition de la biennale et mêlant image imprimée, installation et projection.

NEAR a été créée à Lausanne en 2009 dans le but de promouvoir l'image photographique contemporaine suisse. Ses activités se divisent en quatre pôles principaux : promouvoir et diffuser les travaux des photographes, favoriser les échanges, contribuer à la réflexion critique et enfin diffuser l'actualité de la photographie en Suisse.

NEAR propose des portfolios et une plateforme pluridisciplinaire en ligne. Elle publie une newsletter mensuelle, mène différents projets éditoriaux et organise notamment des expositions, projections, interviews, conférences et rencontres entre professionnels.

This year, NEAR - swiss association for contemporary photography - is invited in for a carte blanche.

During the opening week-end , the photographers members of NEAR will take the Saint-Jean Chapel and propose a collective exhibition based on the theme of the biennial and mixing prints, installation and slide show.

NEAR was founded in Lausanne in 2009 and aims to promote swiss contemporary photography. The association organizes activities around four main objectives : to promote the work photographers, to enable cultural exchanges, to contribute to critical thinking and finally to help spread the news about Swiss photography.

NEAR offers a multidisciplinary platform and artist portfolios on its website, publishes a monthly newsletter and numerous editorial projects. NEAR also organizes exhibitions, screenings, interviews, conferences and gatherings between professionals.
